Lava Tours Costa Rica guides and staff


		Shayna (left) and José (right, obviously) are two of our goofy guides. They may be silly at times, but the amount of information that they both have about Costa Rica is amazing. Together they have almost twenty years of guiding experience in Costa Rica, the US and Europe. José is also a proud new father of a healthy baby boy. Disclaimer: they are both happily married not to each other but to two other wonderful people.
		Javier is another of our quirky guides. A teacher by training he is also a very knowledgeable guide with many years of outdoor guiding experience including river guiding, biking and trekking. He is also our in-house comedian and trip designer.
		Alfonso, Shayna´s hubby, hails from Turrialba, Costa Rica's whitewater rafting hub. As a trained educator he is always ready to enlighten us with local wisdom and entertain us with tales from his hometown.
		Jeimy, one of our newest team members, is currently finishing her naturalist guide certification. She is already an eager cyclist and together with Irina will soon show the guys who is the boss.
		Giovanni manages trip operations and guides trips. He constantly receives accolades for his attention to details and organization. His hobbies are biking, white water kayaking and bugging Irina..
		Irina is an excellent athlete, rock climber, kayaker, biker and a our resident tree-hugger. However, her favorite past time, besides guiding for Lava Tours, is eating chocolate.
		Carlos is our General Manager and erstwhile guide. He spends most of his time worrying about the small stuff and occasionally scores a hit idea. It may not look like it in the picture, but he loves riding bikes.
picture pending!		Madeleine is in charge of reservations and making sure that we all cross the Ts and dot the Is. We simply could not keep everything straight without her!
picture pending!		Benjamin, our full time mechanic, makes sure that all of our bikes are in tip top shape. He is an awesome technician a former road racer (he still manages to drop us all) and overall great guy.
